Mouse Troubleshooting

Confirm the symptom with the online test, then check system settings, connection, dust and hardware wear.

One Click Becomes Two

This is often called unintended double-clicking or contact bounce. Causes include worn switches, oxidation, fatigued springs or an unsuitable system double-click setting.

  1. Adjust the operating system double-click speed and test again.
  2. Try another USB port or receiver position.
  3. Cross-check on another computer and browser.
  4. If normal single clicks repeatedly produce extremely short duplicate signals, the switch or mouse may need replacement.

Button Sometimes Does Not Respond

Clean around the button, reconnect the mouse and replace wireless batteries. If “+” increases but “−” sometimes does not, the button may be sticking. If neither appears, check the connection, driver or switch.

Wheel Scrolls in the Wrong Direction

Occasional reverse scrolling is often related to dust or wear in the wheel encoder. Test in other apps and browsers; if it occurs everywhere, clean or replace the encoder.

Side Buttons Cannot Be Tested

Some browsers, operating systems or mouse drivers intercept forward and back buttons. Temporarily disable macro software, reload the page and try again.

Still Unsure?

Record the mouse model, connection type, operating system, browser and symptoms, then report them through the contact page.
